Sitsit? Sitz? What is that and why do these poeple keep bringing it up? These might be some questions you as an international student may have when you enter Finnish student culture. Have you been to sitz or not, now is a great opportunity to have your own sitz-experience at UDK’s international Game Studies -sitz!
Sitzs are a themed seated meal event, which is best known in Swedish and Finnish student cultures. The evening will be about following sitz etiquette and rules, drinking and eating, hitting the table and singing songs with your friends.
The sitz will be held on 8th of May, at Viinikka hall. The doors will open at 5:30PM and the sitz itself will begin at 6PM. The ticket to sitz will be 10e and the ticket must be purchased in advance!! Be careful to arrive at time, the sitz etiquette is precize about it. The theme will be, foreseeably, games! So in case you have always wanted to dress up as your favorite character or game-related thing or if you already have a costume waiting to be used, now is a perfect opportunity to dress up and have fun!
There will be something small to eat at the event, but it is a good idea to eat well before the sitz. We will also have water and juice (if the budget allows) available, but if you want something else to drink, please bring it yourself!!
This event will follow UDK’s principles of safe space.
